Work From the Bottom Up
To start the dry brushing process, you want to begin at the feet and brush upwards towards your heart. The point of dry brushing is to encourage movement of lymph towards your torso and chest. This is where the lymphatic fluid will re-enter the bloodstream where it can then be excreted. After you do your feet and legs then you want to do your midsection next. After you have completed those areas, and you move onto your arms, you want to start at your hands and move up your arms in small circular motions. You want to use light pressure and it may be slightly painful when you first start so if you feel like you are too sensitive to it then lighten the pressure a little. This is something that may feel slightly uncomfortable to start with, but you will get used to it over time.
Post Dry-Brush Shower
Following the dry brushing you should take a shower. You want to rinse off all of the dead skin cells after dry brushing. Once you have showered, I recommend that you apply a good moisturizer such as this one.
