Any substance we put on our skin is quickly absorbed into our bloodstream, where it may do significant harm to our body without us even knowing it. Everyone understands how vital it is to wash their hands, but how frequently do you think about the chemicals in your hand soap? Or think they could be bad for our health? Using only the cleanest hand soap makes sense, doesn’t it? Especially when it comes to our children. If you haven’t gotten a chance to visit my post regarding the ingredients that you should try to avoid in hand soap then you can visit that here. In the meantime, here is a list of safe swaps that you can reference if you need some help to swap out what you are currently using.
Earthley Spring Soap
Earthley’s all-natural products without fragrance can’t smell amazing?! Skip the toxins of artificially scented products and enjoy the real, delicious scent of Blueberry and Vanilla! This soap is made with all natural ingredients and is safe for the whole family to enjoy. It gently cleanses and exfoliates and will leave your skin soft and nourished.
Earthley’s Oatmeal & Honey Soap
Earthley’s Oatmeal & honey bar is real, raw honey and colloidal oatmeal take the stage in their fan-favorite natural soap bar. Made with a base of plant-based butters, it never strips your skin of its important oils. Instead, it adds moisture back to even the most sensitive skin.
Branch Basics
Branch Basics is a concentrated soap. The one bottle of concentrate can basically be used for anything! It is gentle enough to be used on your skin and still tough enough to be used as your kitchen and bathroom cleaner as well as on your laundry. It is a multi-purpose, eco-friendly cleaning solution that is used for any cleaning job once you dilute it properly with water. You can also use the oxygen boost to help tackle stains and to clean grout. See below for the descriptions of the bottles and their cleaning purposes. There is also an option of buying glass bottles if you prefer that over the plastic. Lastly, I would like to add that if you purchase through my link above you will get $10 off your order!

Earth Mama
This is castile soap, which is among the safest soaps available. This is a body and hand wash. Castile soap should be used in conjunction with a moisturizer since it can feel quite drying, especially when your skin is initially getting acclimated to it. Nonetheless, despite the drying sensation, most people with sensitivities claim that this kind of soap has the best effects on their skin (Earth Mama or any other natural castile soap brand like Dr. Bronner’s – see below).
Earth Mama offers their castile soap in Unscented, Calming Lavender, Ginger Fresh, and Sweet Orange.
Dr. Bronner’s Sugar Soap
Again, like stated above, this is a castile soap which is among the safest soaps out there. This is just a little different spin than their traditional formula as it is a sugar soap. It is made with organic sugar combined with organic shikakai powder which keeps your skin nourished, hydrated & smooth. This bland also includes organic coconut-olive-hemp oils blend for a creamy castile lather which is their soapmaking tradition! Pure essential oils and organic sugar is what makes their delightful aroma.
From what I am reading the reviews are great on this one. At the time of writing this post there was over 2,500 reviews and 80% of them were 5 stars. That’s pretty darn good if you ask me. The only complaint I really see is the price and I don’t even think it is that expensive compared to most of the other natural products I have been seeing. The scents it comes in are Lavender, Lemongrass Lime, Peppermint, Tea Tree, and Baby Unscented.
Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap
If you prefer the castile option, then here ya go! This may be a more cost-effective option, but maybe not as convenient. As you will need to dilute it yourself and buy refillable soap dispensers. So, there’s that trade off. This one has some different scents to choose from as well so that may also play a role in your decision.
Dr. Bronner’s Castile Soap is offered in Lavender, Baby Unscented, Peppermint, Tea Tree, Almond, Rose, Eucalyptus, and Citrus.
Dr. Bronner’s Bar Soap
Dr. Bronner’s also comes in a bar soap option if you prefer that versus the liquid. It comes in Almond, Citrus, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Peppermint, Rose, Tea Tree, and Baby Unscented.
Meliora Foaming Soap
This Meliora set comes with a glass soap dispenser and concentrated soap tablets. One tablet goes in the dispenser at a time and you fill with water to create a foam hand soap. This bundle is eco-friendly and prevents plastic waste from containers going to the landfill each time you need a refill as you just keep refilling the glass dispenser when it is empty instead.
Meliora Soap Bar
Meliora Bath and Body Soap Bars are made from organic coconut and organic sunflower oils at their factory in Chicago, IL. Each 4-ounce bar is extremely versatile. You can use it in the shower for total body cleaning, by your sink to wash your hands, or even as a shaving bar. One bar can do it all! They are made with100% plastic-free packaging which means that their soap bars are people and planet-friendly inside and out. The scented bars only include organic essential oils to make for a fresh scent and no synthetic fragrances. This soap bar is provided in 3 separate scents that include Lavender, Peppermint and unscented.

There ya have it folks!
I am aware that there aren’t many available options for this list, but if you come across one that you’d want me to assess, send it my way. After spending hours conducting my own research, just remember that these are the products that I would feel most comfortable using in my own home not only for myself but with my kids.
