Vitamin D3 is the most biologically active form, which means it is going to be able to be used by the body much easier, whereas D2 will hardly get absorbed at all. Since it is a fat-soluble vitamin, you want to make sure to take it with fat and not on an empty stomach if you want your body to absorb it and use it.
People refer to cholecalciferol as a vitamin, but it is in fact a hormone. This means that vitamin D is essential for bodily functions, but the body is unable to produce it all on its own. Its main source is from the sun.
Where does it come from?
