Maintaining a clean, healthy house is not always easy. In the United States, all purpose cleaners are not subjected to stringent chemical testing. So your go-to cleaning products can be loaded with unfavorable chemicals. In actuality, 25 gallons of harmful chemical items are used annually at home by the average American.
During an NRDC analysis, 45 chemicals often present in American indoor dust were discovered. In the investigation, a startling 90% to 100% of samples included one or more of the ten distinct phthalates, fragrances, flame retardants, or phenols. These chemicals, which leach from plastics, furniture, and personal care products, have been associated to cancer, injury to the reproductive system, and hormonal disruption. Little children, whose bodies and minds are still growing and who spend more time crawling and playing at dust level, are particularly vulnerable to them.
NRDC is pressuring Congress and various federal agencies to protect consumers from chemical risks. But in the meantime, don’t throw in the towel. Here’s a list of safe alternatives for you to use.

Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds Concentrate
Dr. Bronner’s is a concentrate which means that it needs to be diluted before use. What do you think of these options?
Any of them catch your attention? I know it’s not the largest list I have, but I do hope to add to it. I just wanted to get something started. This was a tricky one and is taking more time that the rest. And believe me when I say that I am literally spending hours of research on not only the ingredients list for each type of product, but then finding the products themselves to make up the lists like this one and looking at each individual products ingredient list to make sure that they are safe and clean. So I am doing my best and going as fast as I can. But I hope that this is a helpful start! If you want to look for some on your own feel free to visit my post of ingredients to avoid here.
